We’re hiring for the role of UK Marketing & PR Officer to promote the successful China Internship Program to students across the UK via university outreach, online marketing and an events program. The post holder will also market the British Council Generation UK – China Program, and will work alongside the UK Partnership Manager, Chief Marketing Officer, and the Global Marketing teams.

Job Description

• Organise outreach trips to UK universities, deliver presentations and attending careers fairs.
• Advertise the China Internship Program on UK university jobs boards.
• Support the UK Marketing Manager with university partnerships.
• Monitor UK discussion boards and forums and analyse marketing channels.
• Post on advertising platforms.
• Maintain relations with alumni through welcome home calls and organising alumni events.
• Update the website with intern blogs and alumni testimonials.
• Arrange monthly pre-departure drinks evening for interns.
• Daily management of social media activities.
• Create marketing campaigns for the Generation UK – China Programme.
• Contribute to global marketing activities.
• Attend networking events.
• Assist UK Partnership Manager on day-to-day administrative tasks.
• Support UK Partnership Manager at occasional conferences.
• Recruitment and management of a social media intern.

Person Specification

• Google Analytics, MailChimp, WordPress experience (advantageous)
• Social Media content writing/blogging (advantageous)
• Familiarity of UK universities
• Willingness to travel in and around the UK
• Presentation skills
• Good social and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisation skills, ability to multitask, prioritise and work to deadlines
• Interest in China is desired, but not essential
