Identify new local opportunities and contact external organisers to see if Forever Hounds Trust can attend, eg fetes, dog shows, coffee mornings, street and store collections.
Apply, complete and submit relevant and necessary paperwork on schedule and ensure records are kept, eg local authority permits, risk assessments and so on (support and guidance can be provided).
Seek authorisation from the Fundraising Co-ordinator about any events-related expenditure.
Delegate tasks to fellow volunteers where necessary
Keep in regular contact with local event volunteers to update them on how events went, thank them and inform them of future events.
Ensure that you have enough leaflets, kit and merchandise for each event, liaising with the Volunteer Regional Merchandise Holder as necessary.
Promote all scheduled local events on the charity’s website, with complete details, ie time, place and nature of event (liaising with PR volunteers for support as necessary).
Liaise with regional PR volunteers and the national social media team to promote local events via all forms of media.
Ensure that all monies collected are counted, banked and the necessary paperwork completed (full guidance will be provided).

Skills and abilities
Good local knowledge, including which local authorities/councils operate within your area.
A strong communicator with good organisational skills (event co-ordination and people management experience preferred).
Good IT skills, attention to detail and record keeping skills.
Willingness to take responsibility for health and safety of other attending volunteers during an event, including the provision of risk assessments for planned activities (support will be provided by the central FHT team).
An enthusiasm for Forever Hounds Trust’s work and the ability to positively represent the charity.
Proactive and positive approach to co-ordinating events and volunteers.
Good understanding of the Data Protection Act (1998) and Forever Hounds Trust’s associated data protection guidelines (guidance will be provided).
