Sarah Olney MP for Richmond Park & North Kingston, is looking for an experienced, organised and proactive individual to help establish her office in Parliament and to co-ordinate her work in the constituency.
Main Responsibilities
To head up the office of the newest MP to Parliament. To manage a small team to maximum effect. Co-ordinating the work of the MP in both Parliament and the constituency, liaising with numerous stakeholders and members of the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing all aspects of the budget, keeping the member informed of all relevant financial matters.
- Ensure a range of efficient secretarial and administrative support.
- Manage the office team, ensure accurate personnel records are kept, notifying IPSA of contractual changes as necessary.
- Manage secretarial support to special interest groups as required.
- Ensure the office is fully equipped.
- Overall management of the Member’s diary commitments, delegating tasks to others as appropriate.
- Liaise with groups/personnel at Westminster and within the constituency and the general public on the member’s behalf.
Person Specification
- Experience of managing teams and working with volunteers/interns
- A good knowledge of politics, specifically the Liberal Democrats.
- Sympathetic to the values of the Liberal Democrats.
- A good knowledge of the Richmond Park & North Kingston constituency.
