Job Details

International Service is offering fully-funded volunteer work placements for 12 weeks in Burkina Faso, Ghana and Rwanda as part of the International Citizen Service (ICS) programme.

ICS is a development programme that brings together young people from the UK and developing countries to volunteer in some of the poorest communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It is a once-in-a-lifetime volunteering opportunity open to all 18-25 year olds regardless of background, income, qualifications, disability and work experience. ICS is fully funded by the UK government, thus, you do not need any cash – just the ambition to make a difference!

ICS is more than just a 12 week placement overseas. You'll be working as a team of UK and in-country volunteers supporting our partner organisations in delivering their projects. These projects range from using inclusive sports to reduce stigma about disabilities, to running workshops on business and employability skills. There will be staff to give you support along the way.

It’s a great opportunity for you to gain new skills, develop ones that you already have, transform your CV and have a lasting impact on local communities.

We do also expect a commitment to some fundraising before you depart. Our dedicated fundraising officer will support you on a 1:1 basis to reach a target of £800 before you depart.
