The National Information and Advice Resources team produces a range of free printed and online information for older people, their carers and relatives. Our materials include information guides, factsheets, online information, digital tools and videos. We have one information officer who writes and updates our print and online information and advice materials.

We’re looking for a Senior Information Officer to join our team. You will line manage and supervise the day-to-day work of the Information Officer and oversee the development and production of our Information and Advice resources.

You’ll need first-class writing skills and be able to write clear, concise and creative text for a range of audiences, presenting complex issues in an accessible and involving style.

You will work on a variety of materials and projects; this will include producing new printed resources and writing media articles to developing online materials, such as digital tools and videos. You’ll be able to effectively manage multiple projects, working flexibly, autonomously, and to deadlines.

Required Experience and Attributes
Experience of managing and supervising staff.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to write clear, concise and creative text, tailoring it to different audiences.
Experience of researching new content areas.
Experience of writing and editing engaging and accessible copy for an online audience.
Experience in engaging consumers and testing materials.
Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
Knowledge of the Information Standard and working to quality processes is desirable.
Knowledge of the production of printed materials is desirable.
Experience of effectively project managing multiple projects and tasks, working accurately, flexibly, autonomously and to deadlines.
