Job Details

The Royal Society’s mission is to recognise, promote and support excellence in science and to encourage the development and use of science for the benefit of humanity. The Society’s Public Affairs team works closely with the Society’s President, Officers, Fellowship and staff to identify and deliver opportunities to engage with policymakers to ensure decisions are informed by scientific evidence and create a good environment for scientific research.

The Public Affairs Adviser is key to delivering this. They also manage the Society’s hugely successful and high profile annual pairing scheme that gives policymakers and research scientists an opportunity to experience each other’s worlds.

The ideal individual will be excited by scientific research and driven to ensure that its findings can inform policy-making to improve people’s lives. You may be a science buff or a politics buff, but you are motivated to put your expertise into practice to communicate complex ideas effectively to the people that need to hear them.
