Job Details
Contract: full-time, permanent.
Are you interested in the bigger picture, working flexibly and helping us build strong relationships with our stakeholders? Do you have experience in handling information rights requests?
We’re an independent, not-for-profit organisation that sorts out disputes between financial businesses and their customers. We do this by making decisions that are fair – and feel fair to both sides.
Our stakeholder team helps bridge the gap between the ombudsman service and the outside world through building relationships and sharing insight, both internally and with the people and organisations that have an interest in what we do. And we’re looking for a policy and communications adviser to help us do just that.
We’re looking for someone who has a solid understanding of information rights work – including experience handling requests – to help us meet our obligations under Freedom of Information and Data Protection legislation. And while you’ll have a core responsibility supporting this particular aspect of the stakeholder team’s work, to succeed in the role you’ll need to work flexibly across the team – whether it’s answering an individual enquiry, putting together more in-depth analysis of insight, or strengthening important relationships.
You’ll be someone who is in tune with what’s going on in the world, able to add perspective and context to our work. Your communication and relationship building abilities will be first class – and you’ll be able to use common sense and sound judgement to analyse and evaluate complex information, often having to untangle situations that are unclear and sensitive.
