Job Details
Withdrawal from the European Union threatens many interests vital to Wales and to the UK, as well as to the interests of Europe as a whole. In or out of the EU, geography and all our current connections dictate that our economic, social, cultural, and political relationships with the rest of Europe will remain a matter of primary importance. Wales for Europe has been formed
- to foster a coalition of support for the continuation of the closest possible relationship between Wales and Europe
- to assist in creating well-informed debate
- to foster constructive dialogue on an issue that has divided society
- to prevent the spread of social disharmony - to test the arguments of those seeking withdrawal from the EU
Wales for Europe now wishes to appoint a part-time Director (2 days per week) to lead this work and is seeking candidates with the necessary knowledge, organisational and communications skills.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of and familiarity with the main issues surrounding the UK’s relationship with the EU, especially as they pertain to Wales. They will also be familiar with the contours of Welsh politics and have an ability to build supportive coalitions and networks, as well as the administrative skills to manage a small organisation.
Wales for Europe is a partner organisation of Open Britain.
Closing Date: 23 January 2017
