Grayling Wales, the longest standing public affairs agency in Wales, is looking to recruit a new Head of its Cardiff office.

You will liaise at all levels within the organisation, have an expert understanding of Welsh Government, Shadow Ministers, AMs, councillors and external organisations. You will work closely with teams across the organisation to ensure integrated local and national public affairs and PR activity.

We are looking for a proactive and confident influencer, preferably with the ability to expand client relationships and drive business growth. You will be highly motivated and have excellent organisational and leadership skills.

You must be able to demonstrate experience in similar roles.

Accountabilities
• Leads the Wales division and is connected to other teams across the business to deliver integrated communications solutions for clients
• Develops and delivers commercially astute, insightful political and public affairs strategies and solutions
• Delivers the agreed financial objectives for their P&L (in conjunction with Grayling’s UK Head of Public Affairs)
• Creates the business plan for their division in line with the overall strategic direction of the business
• Creates and delivers marketing opportunities for the business
• Balances commercial requirements with client needs, ensuring the continual success and profitability of the business unit
• Develops, maintains and leverages strong client relationships which result in additional business
• Proactively identifies new business opportunities and actions them by tailoring and leading the best team to respond, converting opportunities to revenue
• Develops, maintains and leverages an active network of professional contacts

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
• Excellent strategic understanding of politics, public affairs and public relations
• Digitally savvy
• Ability to drive profitable growth to plan
• Supportive, inspiring and motivational leader
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A welsh speaker would also be desirable
