Victoria Borwick MP is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working individual to work as an intern in her Westminster office. The position is part time, up to 3 days a week and initially until July 2017.

The successful candidate will have an interest in politics and current affairs, with excellent written and verbal communications skills. Candidates should be sympathetic to aims of the Conservative Party.

Key Responsibilities
• Learning how to manage and respond to casework
• Dealing with standard queries from members of the public
• Assisting with letters/emails, drafting responses to campaign and policy letters
• Basic administrative support, logging all cases and monitoring casework progression
• Attending surgeries and other meetings with MP and team
• Conducting research
• Ability to work in a sensitive and confidential manner within a small team
• Assisting on other projects as required

This position would suit a recent graduate or an individual looking to gain valuable political and office-based experience.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
