Job Details

Are you an experienced policy professional who can communicate with impact? The RCSLT is offering an opportunity to shape national policies regarding children and young people and develop your influencing and campaigning skills.

We are seeking to recruit a Policy Adviser as part of our policy and public affairs team to promote the voice of speech and language therapists in parliaments and assemblies across the UK. The Policy Adviser will be responsible for monitoring and informing education and health policies in England and beyond. You will also help us to build relationships with politicians and other decision-makers, so that they understand the value of speech and language therapy and the difference that it makes to children’s lives.

The Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists is the professional body for the UK’s 17,000 speech & language therapists. The Policy & Public Affairs team handles government policy, liaison with Parliament and Government, and grassroots campaigning across all four nations of the UK.

The Policy Officer will need to be flexible to work across all policy areas for all countries, though an initial focus on children’s and education policy in England is likely. You’ll also be liaising with politicians and their offices direct, and will need to be able to monitor and filter the net and other information sources.

Closing Date: 20 February 2017

Interview/Start Dates
