Julie Ward MEP is looking for a highly professional and experienced individual to work in her busy Constituency Office on a full-time basis.

This new role involves providing information, advice and support to constituents on a variety of relevant issues, liaising with Government agencies, local authorities, the voluntary sector and others to help resolve matters on behalf of constituents or signpost to other more relevant organisations.

You will be expected, along with other members of the team, to provide Julie with summary information on casework, socio-economic trends and constituency issues and, when necessary, to provide reciprocal cover for other team members.

Job Description:
 Meeting with and handling correspondence from constituents, providing advice and support on a variety of issues, including the European Union and North West related matters
 Managing the constituency inbox, disseminating key information to relevant team members
 Drafting letters and emails and liaising with appropriate agencies
 Progressing own workloads, ensuring cases are dealt with in a sensitive, confidential, professional and timely manner with accurate records kept in adherence to the principles of the Data Protection Act
 Attending meetings to assist the office in dealing with constituents’ issues
 Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation/guidelines, as appropriate
 Producing briefings and other summary material on constituency work for Julie and staff where needed
 Liaising with other UK and Brussels staff
 Updating subscriptions, insurances and other key administration duties
 Working on transparency statements alongside office paying agent
 Supporting other staff with tasks as required by the changing needs of a busy office
