Give Us Time takes holidays donated by owners of holiday groups, hotels, holiday homes and timeshares and matches them with military families in need of rest, rehabilitation and reconnection after long periods of separation. We help service families reconnect and provide them with the chance to spend time together and to reaffirm their family bond especially where illness, injury or bereavement is a factor.
As an organisation, we are aiming to grow considerably over the coming years as the need for family support within the military grows. We are looking for someone who can grow with us.
Give Us Time is seeking a Volunteer/Intern to help us run our small charity. The position will involve helping us to manage our newly-developed website and keep it current and functioning effectively. There will be some monitoring of our media platforms involved, including helping to produce and publish content such as videos, photos, tweets and updates. Administrative duties will include liaising with the military and military families; donor management/relations; and keeping our growing databases up to date.
This role offers a great opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to gain experience in the not-for-profit sector and be part of the growth of an exciting military charity. The role can be whatever the right candidate would like to make it, with the flexibility to get involved at all levels of the charity.
• A enthusiastic hard worker, keen to get stuck in and help out wherever they can
• The ability to work with computers and social media platforms
• Experience of voluntary work/not for profit sector is an advantage but not essential
• Eligible to work in the UK is required
• Awareness of issues facing service personnel and families is an advantage
• Proactive and keen to make a difference
A part-time post with hours to suit the successful applicant.
