Job Details
This is a full-time position based in Walkden. Working with the Senior Caseworker. Assess casework coming in via post, email and telephone. Generate responses to constituents and action letters to appropriate bodies (ie Home Office, Salford Council, Jobcentre Plus) within the required deadline. Assess replies received and generate response letters to constituents. Filing work in the shared filing system. Phone answering in rotation dealing with enquiries from constituents and others. Organising meetings with constituents concerning their cases and issues.
Skills and experience required
Casework experience desirable.
Excellent people skills.
Excellent writing and communications skills (including a good telephone manner).
Good IT skills.
Good self-organisation.
Interest in current affairs and supportive of the values of the Labour Party.
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
