The Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce (GBCC) is here to connect, support and grow local businesses. Accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce, we have given a voice to local businesses since 1813. GBCC is headquartered in Edgbaston, Birmingham, and covers six geographic divisions and three themed Chambers. GBCC plays a critical role in representing the local businesses community and campaigning on their behalf. The Policy Team also leads day to day account management of the GBCC’s c.36 Patrons.

This is a great opportunity to join the GBCC as a member of the Policy and Strategic Relationships Team. The ideal candidate will be able to handle a varied and demanding workload with drive and enthusiasm. You will have strong administrative/organisation competencies and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to analyse and interpret information.

This is the ideal entry level role for an individual looking to start a career in policy or senior level account management. You will have an excellent standard of education, educated to degree level is desirable, but not essential, however you will have an interest in policy, politics and/or relationship management.

Responsibilities of the role

  • To provide administration support of the GBCC Patronage scheme
  • To provide support for the promotion and analysis of GBCC and British Chambers of Commerce surveys
  • To coordinate and provide secretariat of Chamber Council, the Brexit Advisory Group and the Business Transport Group
  • Support actives such as researching statistics, producing briefings and drafting press comments
