Job Title: Policy Adviser
Working For: Yvette Cooper MP (Normanton, Pontefract and Castleford)
Salary: Competitive salary, dependent on experience
Yvette Cooper MP, Chair of the Home Affairs Select Committee is recruiting a Policy Advisor.
The post holder will provide Yvette with expert policy advice, analysis and research on Home Affairs and Brexit. They will also need to be able to cover wider policy areas as needed.
The successful candidate will have experience of policy analysis, development and research to tight deadlines, and will need to show detailed knowledge of the Home Affairs brief and good political judgement under pressure.
They will have experience of preparing verbal and written briefing, and be able to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment as well as working proactively with a variety of stakeholders.
Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
