North London Cares are seeking a passionate, diligent, tenacious, outgoing people-person to join our growing team as Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator, running our vital volunteer engagement and outreach functions.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team tackling one of the biggest social challenges of our time – loneliness and isolation in our capital city.
A committed, driven, resilient self-starter, you will work with our experienced Head of Programmes to manage and support our much valued network of young professionals and older neighbours who hang out and help one another in various exciting ways in Camden and Islington.
Day-to-day, your work will facilitate new friendships across social and generational lines.
Applying your charisma, design and communications skills, organisational clarity and volunteer engagement experience, you will deepen partnerships with other groups in the community to support the delivery of North London Cares' ambitious vision.
You will be able to articulate North London Cares’ approach with warmth and clarity so that all relevant parties – including older and younger neighbours, family members, health agencies, councils and other partners – understand the role we play.
You will meet people from various backgrounds and life experiences, from outgoing fun-loving 90-somethings and 20-somethings to people with huge and complex challenges – and you will need to be comfortable with and able to relate to people in each of those situations.
In leading one of North London Cares' three core programmes, you will play a major role in improving people's lives – and in further developing our model designed to reduce loneliness and create new connections in our capital city. So we're looking for a people-person with a strong and professional track record.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you…
