Job Details

Integrity UK is looking to recruit two Countering Violent Extremism Interns.

As this is a voluntary role there are no fixed hours or responsibilities. Nonetheless, interns play a vital role in the organisation and there will be plenty of opportunities for career and personal development. This is also an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience in an NGO environment and in Middle East-related work.

The interns, being part of a small and friendly team, will be working on Integrity's lead counter-terrorism project. They may take part in research work, monitor events from the MENA region, upload content to the project website, and, where applicable follow several Middle Eastern-based media outlets. If interested, the interns also have the opportunity to develop their writing and analytical skills.

Essential skills:
- Good knowledge of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region
- Good written and spoken English
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a small team
- Flexible approach to work and ability to juggle multiple tasks

Desirable skills:
- Arabic language capabilities
- Knowledge of events in Iraq and Syria

Integrity UK was created in 2014 as a unit within the International Centre for Integration & Cohesion – a UK based registered charity (no 1126489). Our aim is to insure that the MENA region is represented and analysed in an impartial, unbiased and robust manner, in order to provide the world with a clear perspective of the current affairs.

W4MP Note:
The role being advertised is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours and responsibilities and you should be free to come and go as you wish. If the post demands set hours and/or has a specific job description you may be deemed to be a ‘worker’ and be covered by National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage legislation.
