As this is a voluntary role there are no fixed hours or responsibilities. Nonetheless, interns play a vital role in the organisation and there will be plenty of opportunities for career and personal development. This is also an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience in the NGO/Charity sector.

Between 2010 and 2020 our ambition is to equip and empower millions of disadvantaged people
with the tools necessary for a better future, a future without poverty. Working with our partners in Southwark, London we seek a research and policy intern to assist us to address issues facing residents across the borough such as deprivation, inequality and lack of opportunities.

JFBW welcomes volunteers with an interest in evidence based analysis to inform public policy in the following areas: housing, planning, justice, community cohesion and local governance.

The role will based in SE1 and will provide you with exposure and experience of advocating through policy the needs of disadvantaged groups to central and local government policymakers and corporate/third sector stakeholders.

The right candidate will have an insight in:
• Community engagement
• Stakeholder engagement
• Corporate engagement
• Organising and attending events
• Managing social Media and blogging

Essential
• An interest in empowering disadvantaged groups in society
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Creative and able to take the initiative
• Prepared to challenge convention
