An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to become a Senior Executive Officer for Geoffrey Cox MP in his Tavistock office.

The role involves providing support and advice to constituents on a wide range of issues, researching policy issues, liaising with Government agencies, the voluntary sector and other organisations, and drafting correspondence.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with the Member’s policy work.
• Liaising with community groups to take forward the MP’s objectives and issues.
• Dealing with daily queries from members of the public by phone or in person, taking the appropriate initial action to resolve, document or escalate their concerns or enquiries.

In addition, you will be required to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant guidelines/legislation, and will be expected to manage your own caseload and progress of casework, ensuring all cases are logged and outstanding queries are followed up.

Professionalism, diplomacy and political awareness are essential, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
