Job Details

Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.

About the role
Working with Airedale Social Movement, you will be part of our innovative programme working with a number of care homes in West and North Yorkshire. This ground-breaking new project is aiming to put these care homes and their residents at the heart of their local communities.

Connecting with key external partners and communities locally and regionally you will identify key stakeholders who can become involved with our programme of work.

You will use your influencing skills to inspire individuals to become involved in the lives of care homes in their communities. In addition you will seek out people who are community leaders who will ensure no-one affected by dementia is excluded from their community and can take this social movement forward.

Airedale Social Movement is part of NHS England’s ‘Health as a Social Movement’ and you will get the opportunity to learn from other sites nationally.

About you
You will have excellent influencing skills and be able to inspire and persuade people in local communities to improve the lives of people living in care homes. You will be able to organise events which attract key people who can unite with us to ensure the programme is a success.
You will have excellent communication skills because part of the role will involve producing reports, and coordinating internal communications on behalf of the programme.
You will work closely with the Regional Programme Manager to deliver the ambitions of our plan for the forthcoming year, but will be expected to have the initiative to manage your own workload.

Travel across West and North Yorkshire will be required.

Closing Date: 23 March 2017
