Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join Imperial College Union’s Education & Welfare Team as our Well-being & Campaigns Coordinator, developing the work of our Well-being Representation Network and student-led campaigns, supporting the Deputy President (Education) and Deputy President (Welfare) and contributing to the development of our welfare policy, support and knowledge.

The post-holder will coordinate and support the Union’s new Well-being Representation Network, participate in our calendar of welfare campaigns and events, and work with student and staff colleagues to maximise the transformative impact that Imperial College Union has on the student experience at Imperial College London. We have over 300 Postgraduate and 200 Undergraduate Academic Representatives, primarily at our South Kensington location but with presences at campuses across West London.

The Union’s contribution to the College’s academic quality is recognised at the highest levels, and we have a track record of generating innovative ideas and setting the terms of educational debates across College. We want to build on these successes and develop the Union’s potential to shape and improve the welfare services provided by College. Working with Deputy President (Welfare) and key volunteers, the Well-being and Campaigns Coordinator will play a fundamental role in lobbying for changes that serve to ensure all students are well supported throughout their time at Imperial.

From our Student Academic Choice Awards to campaigning for changes to educational policies, as well as offering insight into the impact of curriculum design on student satisfaction and mental health, and participating in the selection of the new Vice Provost (Education)/Director of Student Support, we are making real and lasting changes to how students learn, research and develop at Imperial.

The role-holder will work closely with our Representation Coordinator and Advice staff, ensuring that our campaigning and lobbying activity recognises the deep links between the academic, liberation and welfare issues facing our members.

Committed to equality and valuing diversity. We are also an Athena Silver SWAN Award winner and a Stonewall Diversity Champion.
