The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung is a German Christian-Democratic political foundation, with head offices in Berlin and regional offices in over 80 countries. Our London office, which covers the UK and the Republic of Ireland, is looking to hire a Communications & Project Support Officer to work as an essential part of our small and dynamic team. Our annual programme of projects includes a wide range of events, including panel-discussions, workshops and international conferences, and also includes management of research fellowships and publications. Our work focusses upon key political areas, and requires liaising with a wide range of partner organisations from politics, academia, business, and the media. Our broad areas of focus are British-German relations and the European Union.

Reporting to: Director

Role purpose
The Communications & Project Support Officer has a key role to play in planning and delivering communications to key groups, i.e. partners, subscribers and internal staff. The post holder will write, edit, co-ordinate and publish content across various channels, including the website, social media, and print and online marketing materials. Alongside communications, they will also provide support to the KAS director and project managers to develop projects and provide office management support. The role includes, but is not limited to:

Key responsibilities

  • Produce and distribute communications materials
  • Provide communications support for events and projects
  • Promote events
  • Compile press summaries
  • Distribute KAS publications to our postal mailing lists


  • Develop, manage and update website content
  • Maintain social media accounts
  • Create multimedia communications materials

Project and administrative support

  • Support the director and project managers on projects
  • Expand and streamline database of external contacts
  • Manage intern recruitment
  • Provide IT support
  • Provide assistance to the director

Person Specification

  • Communications experience
  • Knowledge of social media platforms
  • Administration experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly, as well as part of a team
  • Capacity to prioritise and work across multiple projects
  • Strong IT skills
  • Demonstrable interest in UK and European politics
  • Knowledge of German desirable
