Location: London

Salary: £20,000 pro rata

Length of Contract:

Job Details

Initially we are looking for someone to fill this role for six months, but this could be extended.

We are recruiting a Compliancy Support Assistant to join our growing Westminster office, who will be responsible for making a major contribution to supporting our members in complying with regulations covering the vape industry.

About the Role
You will work alongside our members in supporting their compliancy with regulations covering the vape industry. Primarily, this will be the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016, which come into full effect on the 20th of May 2017.

These regulations will have a significant impact on the independent vape industry and it is important that our members are supported to ensure that they are able to comply with them. Of equal importance, is ensuring that the regulations are enforced and adequately policed, to ensure that our members do not suffer a competitive disadvantage for having done the right thing.

You will be responsible for:
• Responding to queries from IBVTA members, politicians, and Trading Standards officials,
• Collating compliancy data and drafting reports,
• Overseeing members’ compliancy with the IBVTA’s own code of conduct,
• Undertaking research to support IBVTA members with compliance, and
• Writing occasional articles for the IBVTA website.

About You
You will be a motivated and enthusiastic individual, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

About IBVTA
The IBVTA is the professional voice for the UK’s independent vape industry and is the only trade association dedicated exclusively to the independent sector. All IBVTA members are free from any ownership or control by the tobacco or pharmaceutical industries. The mission of IBVTA is to provide credible knowledge and guidance to support the independent vaping sector and promote constructive interaction between this industry sector and the scientific community, vapers, regulators, policy makers, and the general public. IBVTA fosters research and manufacturing excellence in order to deliver a robust yet proportionate consumer regulatory landscape that adequately reflects the needs of vaping stakeholders and recognises vaping as a sector in its own right.
