We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our Economic Development for Peace team in our London-based thematic Peacebuilding Advisory Unit (PAU). You will be responsible for leading on implementation of Alert’s Conflict Sensitive Business Practice with businesses, supporting and collaborating with country programmes and other PAU strands to develop and implement projects on issues related to corporate engagement, along with conducting research and analysis to develop key advocacy messages which inform project development and implementation. Your work will also include fundraising and delivering trainings to a range of actors including private sector, government agencies and civil society and/or community members.

With a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject, you will have extensive experience in working with commercial enterprises, particularly from the extractives sector, operating in conflict-affected areas with the specific aim of improving their business practices and working on business and human rights issues globally, locally and in particular in conflict-affected countries.

With strong analytical, research and writing skills, coupled with a proven ability to develop and sustain strategic relationships with key actors and partners implementing projects jointly, you will enjoy working in a diverse team and contributing to the development and fulfilment of our team strategy. Knowledge and understanding of frameworks relevant to business and human rights, a proven track record in successful project management, and designing and implementing research projects are some of the essential requirements.
