Job Details

Kings Langley is just outside Watford – 25 mins from central London. Flexibility for home working and at London base to suit need.

We are looking for a communications professional with experience of delivering media and communications plans and managing communication channels to join us in this new role.

About us
The ECITB is a Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB) with statutory power to levy businesses operating in the engineering construction industry in order to fund training and other initiatives designed to enhance the development of the workforce in the industry.

It is an exciting and challenging time for the engineering construction industry and for organisations and businesses with an interest in skills policy – new policy initiatives are being implemented and the political, economic and technological contexts in which the industry operates are changing. In response, the ECITB continues to transform in order to enhance our ability to help shape skills policy and to be more responsive to emerging skills needs in the industry. This is a new role created in recognition of the need to increase capacity and expertise in external and strategic communications.

About the role
Working as part of a small team, you will be assisting the Head of Communications in the development and delivery of a number of media and strategic communications functions including: media planning, monitoring and evaluation; digital and social media management, monitoring and evaluation; strategic campaigns; and content generation.

You can expect to be triaging incoming press inquiries, liaising proactively with media outlets; and developing stories and messaging for delivery across external channels. Responsible for identifying opportunities for interventions: monitoring, analysing and reporting on their impact, and developing recommendations to improve effectiveness, you will need sound-judgement, a can-do attitude and the ability to think and plan strategically, tactically and practically.

About you
This is a demanding role but the opportunity to develop your professional and personal transferable skills and knowledge will be well-supported. If you have the capability and motivation to grow as a communications professional and you’re looking for a role where you can open more doors to greater responsibility then this role is for you.
