Prospect Magazine, the UK’s leading monthly politics and economics title is seeking a new Events Co-ordinator to support the delivery of our increasing programme of activity. Events can include panel discussions, debates, roundtables and lectures.

Reporting to the Editor and Research Programme Manager, the successful candidate will lead on a number of our flagship events, including Prospect’s prestigious Annual Think Tank Awards. This role will require working in close contact with the Editor in order to manage editorial diaries and provide general support.

The role
To support the commercial and editorial teams through:
Planning and delivery of events – these include but are not limited to:

  • The Annual Think Tank Awards
  • Prospect Book Clubs (monthly)
  • Discussions and debates around key political milestones
  • Prospect Reader Events
  • Supporting the delivery of commercial event partnerships

Events arrangement and delivery include:

  • Sourcing and provision of speakers and attendees
  • Sending and monitoring invitations to attendees
  • Assisting in the promotion, marketing and awareness of our events
  • Pre and post-event communications

Logistical support for events delivery include:

  • Making arrangements for venues, catering, AV, travel and accommodation
  • Using Prospect's internal project management tools and CRM system
  • Managing and maintaining speaker databases
  • On the day management of the event

To support the Editor through:

  • Diary Management
  • Travel requirements
  • Accreditation for events
  • Taking messages and fielding phone calls
  • Liaison with Editorial and Commercial teams for Editor availability/ability to attend events and meetings

Required skills and attributes:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the political sphere and experience in arranging and delivering events. Strong written and oral communication is essential. Organisational and time-management skills will be crucial to the success of the role.
