Sutton Borough Conservative Federation is seeking to recruit talented and motivated individuals for several campaign intern posts. This is a key role ahead of the May 2018 Sutton Council elections. The successful applicants will report to the Federation Chairman, Campaign Manager and campaign assistant, and work with councillors, the MP, candidates and volunteers to deliver a successful election campaign. The post would be ideal for any applicant wishing to pursue an early career in politics.

Specific responsibilities would include:

  • Day to day campaigning operations as directed
  • Building a campaign team by increasing volunteers' involvement
  • Delivery and distribution of campaign literature
  • Organisation of Voter canvassing
  • Inputting and updating data on Vote Source
  • Assisting with Association fundraising events and event co-ordination when required

The successful applicants should be able to demonstrate that they are self-motivated, have a good eye for detail and possess the ability to produce high quality work against tight deadlines. They will have excellent verbal and written communication skills together with a strong work ethic and be able to work as part of the SBCF team.

Familiarity with Vote source is desirable, and successful applicants should have excellent command of Microsoft Office and IT skills. A driving licence is desirable as is also the ability to work flexible hours including weekends where required.
