Job Details

To undertake communications and media related work as required for the Assembly Member ensuring that standards of confidentiality are maintained. To promote the Assembly Member and to engage with the public and attend public engagement events with the AM.

To provide the Assembly Member with administrative, constituency, parliamentary and publicity support ensuring that standards of confidentiality are maintained.

Main Duties

  • Establish a broad range of contacts within the press, broadcast and online media in order to promote the work of the Assembly Member
  • Carry out local community campaigns, based on based on Assembly issues and debates as focussed on by the Assembly Member Identify forthcoming events which may provide potential media opportunities
  • Promote the work of the Assembly Member on social media and on their website and develop their media profile by uploading, editing and creating videos and documents online.
  • Be responsible for creating databases from organisations and constituents so that information on the AMs work can be sent to them on a regular basis.

Essential Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience of working effectively within a community liaison or communications environment
  • An understanding of issues of relevance to Wales and the local area
  • Understanding of the need to reflect the views of the AM in a manner which reflects equal opportunity and is not inflammatory, insensitive, libelous, slanderous or defamatory
