Freedom Now is establishing an office in London and is seeking a full-time advocacy director. The person in this role will be responsible for helping to develop and implement an effective advocacy strategy in the UK and elsewhere in Europe, contributing to our overall programmatic goals, and assisting with office management. Successful candidates will be passionate about advancing human rights and the rule of law through international advocacy efforts aimed at freeing individual prisoners of conscience and addressing arbitrary detention and associated abuses.

Freedom Now’s UK office is new and the person taking on this new role will work closely with Freedom Now’s executive director and Washington DC-based team. Thus, the ideal candidate will thrive in a start-up environment where a premium is placed on flexibility and willingness to assist with any and all tasks needed. Experience with international human rights law and protection mechanisms is highly desirable; however, most essential is that the candidate have experience in advocacy and demonstrates the necessary skills. This position will be staffed in London, with some travel as required.
