The main purpose of the role is to design and deliver public affairs campaigns, policy analysis and research to audiences including politicians, local and national government and NGOs on topics including Brexit, sustainability, trade and energy.
This is both a strategic and operational role.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Develop, manage and implement political and stakeholder engagement plan for British Sugar aligned to British Sugar strategy priorities
- Provide advocacy insight to a range of business priorities and to support recommendations to British Sugar Leadership Team
- Draft reports, briefing papers and formal submissions for consultations and inquiries connected to strategic priorities
- Develop and manage stakeholder networks to support growth plans to deliver British Sugar strategy including representing British Sugar externally in meetings with local stakeholders and national politicians, at industry events and conferences and through trade bodies
- Work with the Head of Advocacy and technical experts to develop political engagement plans on policy areas above
- Deliver external sustainability approach, including building and maintaining external relationships and managing and maintaining effective bank of case studies
- Work with Head of Advocacy to develop and grow British Sugar narrative and identify opportunities to communicate with customers and stakeholders
