Here at Cancer Research UK, influencing public policy is an integral part of our work. We work to inspire volunteers, unite the scientific community, educate the public about cancer prevention and tell our story to national and local government to bring about change. We use our findings to inform parliamentarians, councillors and policy-makers to help them understand cancer and the progress we are making.

• Support the Local Public and Campaigning Affairs team across the UK to deliver our local influencing activities.
• Play a key role in our communications to influence councillors and local health decision makers on our local policy calls.
• Manage our stakeholder database by mapping local government contacts and undertaking regular reports to monitor the impact of engaging our local contacts on our cancer priorities.
• Develop a range of materials including internal briefings, research background on the local health landscape and insight on key stakeholders.
