The LGA is the national voice of local government which seeks to support, promote and improve councils across England and Wales.

We are looking for a bright, energetic and enthusiastic candidate to join the Independent Group Office. You will need a broad understanding of local government and ideally some experience with working with councillors or other politicians. You will need to be an excellent communicator, able to juggle multiple priorities and demonstrate a passion for and an understanding of politics.

You will have the opportunity to develop your research and interpersonal skills and be empowered to take the initiative, identify policy issues of concern to the Independent Group membership and demonstrate a positive, “Can–Do” attitude.

Based in the LGA’s offices in the heart of Westminster (from November 2017), we are a small team in need of someone who is very personable, highly organised and with a very high degree of political sensitivity.

The LGA is currently based in Layden House, Farringdon (zone 1), but will be moving back to 18 Smith Square, Westminster once refurbishment is complete in autumn 2017.
