Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join NHS Improvement’s Policy Team and work on demanding policy and strategy projects that will drive and influence change across the NHS.

NHS Improvement’s Policy Team consists of around 25 policy professionals, including Policy Directors, Senior Policy Advisers, Policy Advisers and Policy Associates. We help NHS Improvement understand and solve the challenges facing the healthcare system, focusing on where we can have the greatest impact and take good decisions based on the best possible evidence.

As Policy Associate, you will support strategy and policy projects by using your problem solving and analytical skills to inform evidence-based decision-making. This involves working with key internal and external stakeholders on specific projects usually with support from a Policy Advisor or Senior Policy Advisor.

Experience of managing tasks and projects and the associated risks, and experience in data collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis and research are essential, as is the ability to distil complex information and evidence into briefings and recommendations.

If you are a motivated self-starter with a desire to build knowledge and expertise in health policy at a national level and are keen to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment we would be delighted to hear from you.

We plan to hold an open evening between 6-7pm on 20th September in London, for those who might be interested in finding out more about NHS Improvement and the role. Please contact Amor.Kok@nhs.net for further details.

NHS Improvement is responsible for overseeing foundation trusts, NHS trusts and independent healthcare providers. We offer the support these providers need to give patients consistently safe, high quality, compassionate care within local health systems that are financially sustainable. By holding providers to account and, where necessary, intervening, we help the NHS to meet its short-term challenges and secure its future.

NHS Improvement is the operational name for the organisation that brings together Monitor, NHS Trust Development Authority, Patient Safety, the National Reporting and Learning System, the Advancing Change team and the Intensive Support Teams.
