Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join NHS Improvement’s Policy Team and work on demanding policy and strategy projects that will drive and influence change across the NHS.

NHS Improvement’s Policy Team consists of around 25 policy professionals, including Policy Directors, Senior Policy Advisers, Policy Advisers and Policy Associates. We help NHS Improvement understand and solve the challenges facing the healthcare system, focusing on where we can have the greatest impact and take good decisions based on the best possible evidence.

As Policy Adviser, you will support, and lead as appropriate, the design and delivery of major policy and strategy projects, managing stakeholders at all levels internally and externally. You may also be required to manage Policy Associates.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as demonstrated through previous experience in policy, strategy or research roles and good project management and organisational skills to plan and run policy studies to deadlines and to a high standard are essential.

We plan to hold an open evening between 6-7pm on 20th September in London, for those who might be interested in finding out more about NHS Improvement and the role. Please contact Amor.Kok@nhs.net for further details.

Please note we also have a fixed-term contract cover role for a second Policy Adviser – please let us know when you apply if you wish to be considered for this opportunity.

NHS Improvement is responsible for overseeing foundation trusts, NHS trusts and independent healthcare providers. We offer the support these providers need to give patients consistently safe, high quality, compassionate care within local health systems that are financially sustainable. By holding providers to account and, where necessary, intervening, we help the NHS to meet its short-term challenges and secure its future.

NHS Improvement is the operational name for the organisation that brings together Monitor, NHS Trust Development Authority, Patient Safety, the National Reporting and Learning System, the Advancing Change team and the Intensive Support Teams.
