Job Title: Public Affairs Manager

This is a great opportunity to lead a pro-active positive public affairs strategy and develop policy ideas - in a firm that has a clear societal purpose, a collaborative approach and seeks to address big social and economic issues. This role is focused on local development, cities and innovation in public services. This is a part time role - ideal for someone looking for 3 or 4 days a week. I would be particularly interested in applications from people with experience of Parliament and working with MPs, think tanks or elected mayors and combined authorities.
Job Description Summary
To play a key role in supporting the implementation of the department strategy to build the brand profile and create new brand opportunities on a One Firm basis.
The successful candidate takes ownership and supports senior management on projects and engages with client-facing teams. They will also share insight and best practice across the firm, through workshops and internal communications.
This specific role is responsible for:
• Leading as secretariat to the Vibrant Economy Commission (an advisory board of external leaders from business and civic society)
• Leading the development and implementation of our public affairs and policy strategy on the theme of 'Environments where people and business thrive' which includes innovation in public services and 'localism' agenda. This includes political engagement with metro mayors and local MPs.
• Supporting the two senior executives in their team, assisting with their career development, and deputising for the Director of Public Affairs, Policy and Insight.
