About the Role
Reporting to RCSEd’s Public Affairs Manager/Head of Birmingham Regional Centre, the Engagement Officer will oversee the establishment of a new Advocacy Network of clinicians from throughout England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland as well as co-ordinate and develop the College’s Lay Reference Network across the UK.
Whilst the post will be based in the RCSEd’s Birmingham centre, there will be requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work on a regular basis.
Experience/Qualifications/Key Skills
The successful applicant will have experience of building and maintaining remote networks as well as good administration and organisational skills. Using their strong analytical and communication skills, the post-holder will distil the key facts from such information to inform policy development and disseminate relevant information to stakeholders from across the College. Political nous and an ability to create compelling cases to busy decision makers are also critical.
Educated to a minimum level of degree level you will have excellent communication and strong team working skills. You will be a proficient user of the MS Office suite and have the ability to prioritise your workload with minimum supervision. A high level of professionalism and diplomacy is required for the role as is a willingness to take on new challenges and be receptive to change.
An understanding of, and interest in current affairs and health policy are desirable
