About the Role
Reporting to RCSEd’s Public Affairs Manager/Head of Birmingham Regional Centre, the Healthcare Policy Officer will play a key role in developing and implementing RCSEd’s policy and external affairs activity in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Whilst the post will be based in the RCSEd’s Birmingham centre, there will be requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work on a regular basis.

Experience/Qualifications/Key Skills
The successful applicant will develop an in-depth knowledge of health policy in the UK and will use research and networks to keep up-to-date with current developments. Using their strong analytical and communication skills, the post-holder will distil the key facts from such information to inform policy development and disseminate relevant information to stakeholders from across the College. Political nous and an ability to create compelling cases to busy decision makers are also critical.

Educated to a minimum level of degree level you will have proven policy and analytical experience, excellent communication and strong team working skills. You will be a proficient user of the MS Office suite and have the ability to prioritise your workload with minimum supervision. A high level of professionalism and diplomacy is required for the role as is a willingness to take on new challenges and be receptive to change.

An understanding of, and interest in current affairs and health policy are desirable.
