ISD welcomes applications from candidates who would like to be part of ISD’s flagship Education Programme, which works internationally to build the resilience of young people to hate and extremism. 

Key responsibilities
• Supporting the education team in the strategic expansion and development of ISD’s education programme, with a particular focus on building education networks in the UK, Canadian and European education contexts;
• Scoping and managing relations with key education partners across various countries, including the UK, Canada, and other European states;
• Undertaking research assignments and assisting in compiling background documents and reports on key areas within countering extremism through education;
• Assisting in the content development of education toolkits tailored to young people and practitioners in a variety of international contexts;
• Providing coordination and logistical support to ISD’s Extreme Dialogue and Internet Citizens UK delivery interventions, including conducting outreach to UK schools and other key UK education sector stakeholders and managing bookings with schools and other education practitioners;
• Maintaining up-to-date information on relevant databases;
• Supporting the ongoing monitoring and evaluating of the impact of ISD’s education projects;
• Managing ISD Education’s online presence through social media and newsletters.

Person specification
Essential
• Experience working within the education sector;
• Excellent knowledge of the UK education sector;
• Strong team player, but able to work independently;
• Good time management skills and ability to prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines;
• Ability to take initiative and move work forward;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (English language).

Desirable
• Good knowledge of international education sectors;
• Qualifications related to teaching or education;
• Broad subject knowledge of countering violent extremism and/or social cohesion policy;
• Quantitative analysis skills (Stata/R);
• Foreign language skills.
