Migration Watch UK (MWUK) are looking to recruit a highly motivated and confident individual to fill the role of full-time Executive Director, working directly to our Chairman, Lord Green of Deddington.

Migration Watch UK is a prominent and influential think tank and the Executive Director will be someone with the energy and vision to drive and shape the organisation according to our values and ethos. We are committed to influencing policy and empowering the public with the facts.

The successful candidate will be working in a high-profile area of political and public debate. As a result, the role provides extensive opportunities to engage with key players both inside and outside government and with the media.

Key responsibilities
* Implement strategy to meet the objectives of MWUK
* Provide high quality and timely advice to tight deadlines
* Undertake and co-ordinate research activities to further the aims of MWUK and to further the role of the organisation as an influential voice in the migration debate
* Take a leading role in developing and delivering the media strategy of the organisation, including representing MWUK as a face and voice in the media
* Engage with existing contacts in the media, Parliament, government and others to further the strategic goals of the organisation, and develop new contacts.

Person specification
* Well-organised, self reliant, flexible, calm under pressure and with good attention to detail
* Able to assimilate, analyse and interpret information quickly
* Excellent research skills (including quantitative analysis) and ability to distil large volumes of information into key messages and to convey those messages to a range of varied audiences
* Experience of policy development and Parliamentary processes
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with a succinct writing style and the ability to present complex issues in a persuasive manner
* Confident and articulate in a variety of situations, both formal and informal. Ideally, candidates will have a track record of media experience including both radio and TV appearances
* Experience with social media and an understanding of its power in furthering the goals of non-profit organisations
* Understanding of the main issues in the immigration debate.
