The Opportunity
A leading health regulator is looking to expand their communications team and are hiring a Senior Communications Advisor into their busy department. Leading a team of 3 direct reports, this role is responsible for developing and implementing highly strategic communications and engagement plans and developing the department to achieve the organisations’ objectives. The successful candidate will have a mixed skillset of highly strategic communications, media, public affairs and policy. Knowledge of the health and regulatory sector would be highly advantageous. This role will be working with senior internal and external stakeholders and deputising for the Head of Parliamentary and Stakeholder Relations as appropriate.

Main Responsibilities

• Devise and implement strategic communications, analysis and polices, whilst implementing engagement objectives through a variety of online and offline channels
• Lead specific project plans and internal working groups for the organisation
• Provide robust communication and engagement advice to the chief executive and other senior managers in the organisation
• Representing the organisation with senior stakeholders including MPs, parliamentarians and government bodies at external events
• Relay key messages to various targeted audiences in an eloquent and professional manner

Key Skill and Experience Required

• Proven track record in a senior communications and advocacy based role
• Experience in line managing and developing a team
• Demonstrable experience working to a high standard and delivering organisation’s outcomes
• Ability to provide robust strategic communications and advocacy advice
• Strong understanding of the health and regulatory sectors
