Job Details

Do you think the housing crisis is one of the biggest challenges our nation faces?

Do you feel a voice should be given to the millions of people who are trapped in unaffordable, unsuitable and poor quality housing?

Then come and join the National Housing Federation. We are the trade body for not-for-profit English housing associations, which last year started work on over 47,000 new homes – nearly a third of all new housing in the country. Our members are seen as key players in fixing the country’s broken housing market once and for all.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious PR specialist to play a lead role in the Federation’s influential media team.

The past year has been incredibly successful for the sector, and the media team has played a huge role in amplifying the Federation’s messaging and policy asks. The organisation secured £2bn of new funding for desperately needed affordable housing, and helped stop benefit cuts to some of the nation’s most vulnerable people.

As we look to build on a positive relationship with the Government, we need a conscientious and strategic PR Officer to fly the flag for housing associations and ensure that truly affordable housing continues to get the attention it deserves.

You will be joining a high-performing campaigning media team that in the last few months alone has played a pivotal role in creating national profile for social housing, briefed senior broadsheet editors, and helped land major stories that have been covered on everything from the Today programme to the Sun Says.

This is a chance to not only build your contacts, but secure lots of high-profile and meaningful coverage.

Thank you for your interest. We very much look forward to hearing from you.
