About the role
This interim role will ensure that we work to establish and maintain excellent relationships to manage our external reputation. As part of this we are looking to recruit an interim director to lead and oversee this work, to help create a directorate that can support this function as soon as possible. 

The new directorate of External Affairs will comprise of our Media Team, External Communications, Parliamentary and Stakeholder relations and our Digital and Website Functions.

Skills and experience required
- Substantial experience of working at executive level in a high profile and politically complex environment with diverse stakeholders.
- A seasoned leader of external relations and public affairs with a good external profile in a relevant field.
- Demonstrable understanding of impact measurement in the context of a statutory regulator and how impact measurement can be used to further the strategic goals on the NMC.
- Ability to manage budgets and resources prudently.
