An opportunity has arisen for a Campaigns Co-ordinator to join the Policy and Campaigns team at the Motor Neurone Disease Association to deliver the association’s programme of local and national campaigning in the west region. The key purpose of this role is to create positive change for people with MND and those affected by the disease by improving access to key services they rely on within the NHS, social care or elsewhere.

The MND Association uses the word ‘campaigning’ as an umbrella to describe all activities where we apply pressure to decision makers to bring about change in the best interests of people with MND and those affect by it. Decision makers may include politicians, commissioners, provider bodies, health & social care professions and council officers.

As Campaigns Co-ordinator you will be responsible for delivering national campaigns and supporting campaigning volunteers in the west, working together with regional colleagues to deliver campaigns in the regions and nations. Our west region covers West Midlands, Cheshire & Merseyside, Wales, Isle of Man and Northern Ireland.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a campaigns or policy environment preferably within a third/ public sector organisation, with an understanding of local decision making processes and within local health & social services.

You will enjoy working in a fast paced environment with the ability to work under pressure. Excellent negotiating skills and influencing skills are necessary, together with a flexible, innovative and pragmatic approach to solving problems.

You will be available for occasional evening and weekend work and have the ability to travel to external meetings and events as required.
