Job Details

Nesta’s Health Lab is looking for an ambitious and driven person to join our Social Health team as Programme Manager. You will join a fast-paced and high performance team in the UK’s leading innovation foundation - and have the chance to support the development and delivery of our work to identify, scale and support innovations in health.

We’re interested in how to support a population living with more long-term health conditions when the health and care system is under serious financial pressure. Our work focuses on innovations that improve health and wellbeing through building new relationships and networks - for example peer support, high impact volunteering, and social movements - and by creating new knowledge powered by digital technologies.

This is a key role in the Social Health team, working closely with Nesta colleagues and external partners to deliver an ambitious portfolio of programmes, including managing grants, developing evaluation approaches, and communicating with key audiences.

We’re a relatively small team delivering a big, challenging range of projects. We are smart, creative, and curious, passionate about our work and approach, and committed to supporting the organisations we back to improve their ideas and maximise their impact. We’re looking for someone who will bring these qualities to working with us.

What are we looking for in you?
We are looking for an exceptional candidate who has a passion for social change and a practical and positive approach that leads to action. You will be able to combine thinking and doing to support complex programmes, build relationships and get the best out of the projects we support.

Your skills and experience will include:
● Knowledge and practical understanding of health and wellbeing, or the ability to learn quickly and apply relevant experience.
● Experience of designing and delivering innovation and improvement programmes - or skills to bring from other work which would enable you to do this.
● Understanding of research and evaluation methods, including approaches to gathering evidence of impact.
● Experience of designing and facilitating workshops and events.
● Excellent written and presentation skills.
