The Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP is looking to appoint a full-time Policy Caseworker working alongside his dedicated constituency team and to assist in the day-to-day running of his vibrant and busy constituency office based in Hindhead, Surrey.

The successful applicant would ideally have some parliamentary experience, be a competent and confident communicator with excellent written skills. He/she would have a strong work ethic, be organised and be able to work under pressure.

Local knowledge of the constituency would be an advantage, but not essential.

The role will include:
Dealing with the daily post and email enquiries and taking the appropriate action to address constituents' concerns.
Drafting responses to constituents’ correspondence on a wide range of policy related issues by liaising with government agencies, departments, the voluntary sector and others.
Arranging tours of the Houses of Parliament and gallery tickets.
Ensuring that all identified actions are taken, that all cases are logged, and information is managed confidentially.

The following skills are essential:
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, including a polite telephone manner.
Excellent organisational, administrative and IT Skills, including Microsoft Office with an appreciation of the importance of attention to detail.
The ability to work as an individual quickly and efficiently but also as a supportive part of a team and able to stay calm when working under time pressure.
Enthusiastic, self-motivated and with a sense of humour to work within a closely knit team in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for the constituents.

Candidates should be sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
