The organisation
Unlocked Graduates is a charity established with the explicit aim of attracting high-calibre graduate talent to work in the UK prison service and inject new ideas, insights and energy into the rehabilitation of prisons. Graduates undertake a unique two-year leadership development programme aimed at training them to become inspirational and supportive leaders. Serving as prison officers, they build these skills through a bespoke training programme, alongside working with prisoners to identify and implement actions and strategies that will help them break the cycle of reoffending. Graduates also work towards a fully funded Master’s in Leadership and Custodial Environments and have the opportunity to contribute to and influence policy on prison reform.

The role
This is a new role that will be the first building block in a central research and evaluation function at Unlocked Graduates. We are seeking candidates who will monitor and measure the impact of the Unlocked programme at a person, prison and societal level while providing a central research support function to our participants, reviewing and assessing the strength of their research findings and policy recommendations. We want to put a research driven approach at the heart of what we do, using early lessons to drive continuous improvement and direct funding decisions.
