Job Details

Carefreebreaks is seeking to hire a paid intern for three months to assist in the launch of its pilot technology project - a project designed to match unpaid carers in need of a break from their caring responsibilities, with donated holiday breaks.

We are a team of ambitious, passionate and compassionate people with a shared desire to create an impactful change in the unpaid home carer sector that includes 7 million caregivers in the UK alone; people who are all too rarely celebrated and rewarded.

We want to work with someone with a strong eye for detail to help manage the flow content onto our new automated platform, who can also zoom out to the bigger picture and effectively communicate the stories of the carers we work with.

As a new social tech start-up, this is great experience for someone interested in a career in the tech for good space, civic tech and digital innovation for the public sector. We have big plans for Carefreebreaks and expect the team and organisation to grow quickly.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for populating the content of our new online platform with information on donated holiday breaks and helping to validate carer referrals to our service.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Digitally literate - there’s no coding involved but you will need to be comfortable with uploading content from the back end of our system
  • Adaptive - things can change a lot during a pilot phase and we’ll need you to work with us to keep improving what we do and how we do it
  • A great listener and clear communicator - our carers need to feel supported every step of the way
  • A willingness to pitch in and make things happen as we take this organisation to scale

We expect the duration of this internship to be 3 months and are flexible on whether it is full or part-time, depending on the right candidate.

Closing Date: 8 December 2017

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews: Week beginning 11 Dec 2017.
Start date: 2 January 2018.

Please note that we may appoint before the closing date advertised.
