Role
In this role you will:
Share (as a member of the SMT) responsibility for the strategic direction, leadership, operational management and funding of the organisation
Lead and manage the policy and advocacy team including strategic development, fundraising and programme planning
Develop and manage a programme of external and internal communications and develop the organisation’s campaigning and lobbying strategy as well as leading on messaging and news management
Define and implement an impact assessment programme and work closely with the SMT to secure ongoing finances and resources to support policy and advocacy activities
Develop and maintain relationships with key figures in government, academia, public and charity sectors, the support of which is vital to the successful delivery of the organisation’s programmes.

Candidate
Demonstrable and successful senior management experience of delivering programmes and projects in a relevant social policy or rights area
Strong experience in delivering communications strategies and developing and implementing public campaigns and policy communications
Persuasive and influential, ability to demonstrate commitment to the organisation’s aims and objectives and work collaboratively as a member of the SMT
Strong written and oral communications skills, ability to work effectively with members of the press, identify and prepare funding proposals and understand and meet the needs of the organisation’s stakeholders
Developed leadership skills, ability to inspire and motivate staff and manage professional development pathways.
