Job Purpose
To provide support to the Communications Manager, as well as to support wider communication activity within the Communications Team, including the production of What's Brewing and BEER magazine.

Key Accountabilities

  • Handling and directing press enquiries
  • Responding to requests for information or support from volunteer press officers and members
  • Compiling press coverage summaries and distributing to stakeholders
  • Managing media/interview schedule for CAMRA spokespeople
  • Producing regular updates and briefings for volunteer press officers and senior campaign members
  • Compiling and distributing regional press coverage reports
  • Proofreading Communication Team output including press releases, digital content and What's Brewing and BEER
  • Supporting communication content generation and administration across all channels, including digital
  • Supporting WB and BEER production including administration of ‘Festivals’ and ‘What's On’ collation process
  • Provide administrative support for Communications Team, including support for National Director with responsibility for Communications
  • Maintain CAMRA’s digital asset libraries
  • Carrying out picture research

Person Specification
Essential Criteria

  • Journalism, PR or related qualification
  • A high degree of literacy with excellent writing skills
  • Confident, with excellent communication skills
  • Experience of writing press releases and other communication copy
  • Great attention to detail, accurate and strong proofreading skills
  • Demonstrable organisational skills with ability to manage workloads
  • Familiarity with common social media tools and content management systems
  • Good team player with initiative and ability to self-motivate

Preferred Criteria

  • Knowledge of the beer and pub industry
  • Experience of working within a membership or not-for-profit organisation
  • Interest in real ale and pubs

Closing 5pm.

Interviews will be held 19 December at CAMRA’s office in St Albans, with successful candidates invited to attend by end of week commencing 11 December.

Start date is as soon as possible.
